Cate~Nine months

How can it be that my sweet Cate is nine months old?? 

At nine months:

~Cate continues to be so sweet and content.  She smiles and giggles all the time and is such a joy to be around.  She's so easy to keep entertained.  Praying she's always this easy!  Lately she will show us that she's got some spunkiness hidden deep within.  If she really wants something and can't have it, she'll grunt and get a little bit mad.  But thankfully she's easily distracted!

~She's still pretty much immobile.  Not really showing signs that she's ready to crawl.  She'll scoot backwards a little bit, but not all the time.  She hasn't figured out how to move her legs and arms together.  And honestly she really dislikes being on her belly.  I don't think she'll crawl for long before she learns to walk.  Just today, she started rolling around the living room.  Up until now, she'd just roll once, but she's finally figured out that she can keep rolling!  It's been nice that we've been able to sit her on the floor surrounded by her toys and not have to worry about her going anywhere.

~She wears 9m and 12m clothes.  I mostly buy 12m just to make them last longer.  And her thighs have a hard time fitting into some 9m clothes!  She wears size 3 diapers but we'll move her up soon. 

~Cate is no longer eating baby food!  She never really liked it.  So as soon as we started giving her finger foods, she scarved them down.  We haven't looked back!  She'll pretty much eat anything we give her.  Her faves are turkey, peas, carrots, toast, black beans, eggs, and bananas.  The only food we feed her is yogurt which she LOVES!

~Cate is still waking up at night.  Lately it's been twice a night.  ugh.  Dreaming of the day she'll sleep through the night again!  Ha!

~She'll usually a good napper though.  If we're at home all day, she'll take 2-3 two hour naps.  If we're out and about in the morning, she cat naps in the card and doesn't nap as well the rest of the day.  More incentive to stay home, for sure! 

~She says lots of consonant sounds, but her very fave is 'dada'.  She says dada all day long, and she's started saying something that sounds like 'daddy'.  Cory, of course, thinks it's the best thing ever.

~She loves to laugh and thinks Luke is the funniest person ever.  Basically, if he just looks at her or talks to her, she'll bust out laughing.  Her very favorite thing that he does is when he's running around the house and he runs towards her.  She laughs SO hard. 

~Cate is so much fun, and we love watching her grow and change each day.  She's the perfect addition to our family!
