My sweet baby girl is seven months old! Time is really flying by with her! But this stage is SO much fun!
Cate at 7 Months:
~Cate is still the happiest, most content baby. She's just so easy! She's very content to be sitting on the floor playing with her toys and watching Luke play. It's so easy to make her laugh and giggle which we all love. She thinks Luke is the funniest thing ever (especially if he's upset!).
~Cate is having some stranger anxiety. The only time she ever gets upset is when we drop her off in the church nursery. As soon as we walk in the nursery, she busts out crying because she knows we're leaving her. Poor thing. Luke went through the exact same thing so we know it will pass, but it is hard to see her upset.
~Her sleep is all out of whack from being sick. She was only getting up once and occasionally sleeping through the night. But she still has a hacking cough at night so she hasn't slept through the night lately. She's still a great napper. If we're at home all day, she'll take two really long naps and a few catnaps. But on Luke's preschool days when we're running errands, she usually just takes lots of little naps. Her bedtime is between 7:00-7:30.
~She's liking her baby food more and more. She didn't want any of it when she was sick so she's just now getting back into eating it. Oatmeal is still her favorite thing though. She started eating Cheerios and Puffs this week. Sometimes she likes them, and sometimes she acts like she doesn't know what to do them. Cate might very well be the slowest, most easily distracted eater I've ever seen. Seriously. She takes such a long time to eat each tiny bite and then takes a minute to look around at Luke or the dog or anything else that catches her attention before she takes another bite. It's pretty funny and requires lots of extra time!
~She shows no signs of any teeth. I'm thinking we're still a few months away from those first few teeth.
~Cate wears size 3 diapers and mostly 6 month clothes. Since she's so short, she can wear some things longer--as long as it isn't too tight on her thighs and arms!
~Cate's favorite toys are her blocks, her connecting rings, and books. And she really loves playing with the wipes container. I love how the most simple toys keep her occupied at this stage.
~She is very interested in our dog. Sometimes she thinks he's the funniest thing, and other times she's very confused by him. I think she'll be a dog-lover like her brother though.
~She can make quite a few consonant sounds. Cate says 'da da da', 'ma ma ma', 'ba ba ba', and something that sounds just like "hi". She talks and babbles all the time especially in the car after we've been somewhere. I feel like she's telling us about what's she's done and her thoughts about it! Ha!
~Cate gets lots of attention where ever we go. Sometimes she smiles really big at other people, and sometimes she gives a bashful little look. Very cute.
~Cate sits up wonderfully and is still immobile. At this age, Luke was rolling everywhere he wanted to go, but not Cate. When we sit her somewhere, she's stays! I'm kinda enjoying that because I know she'll be all over the place before I know it!
We absolutely love everything about Cate, and she's so perfect in every way.
