Our first day in Charleston!

Charleston is our very favorite vacation spot--it's me and Cory's third time to go there! And the last time we were there, we found out we were pregnant with Luke, so it was neat to be back WITH Lukie. And I think he loves Charleston as much as we do! We always stay at the same historic hotel in the heart of downtown Charleston--we can walk everywhere, and then we would just drive to the beach everyday.
When we got to Charleston on Sunday, we wanted to walk around and see some of our favorite sites. And boy oh boy, was it HOT! We ended up letting Luke play in one of the fountains at the Waterfront Park. And I can honestly say it was THE funnest thing he's ever done. I've never seen him SO happy and excited to do something!Like with everything else, Luke was a little unsure at first. But once he realized what to do, he squealed and screamed with excitement the whole time!

Can you see his face in these pics??! LOVING it!
People walking by would stop, watch him, and laugh! It was hilarious!

After that, we were dying to take Luke to the beach and see how he reacted to the sand and ocean. We absolutely love Sullivan's Island. Cory's aunt lives near there so he grew up visiting her and they would always go to Sullivan's Island so he has lots of memories there. There's never many people there, and the sand is hard and damp so it was perfect for Luke to walk on.
Luke's first look at the ocean. A little unsure at first... And very serious.

Still unsure...
And then he decided he liked it!
And as soon as Cory put him down, he took off running!! And that's what he did all week long--ran from the ocean to the beach and back and forth!

He tried hard all week to take all the sand that was on the beach and put it back in the ocean!
We eventually took off his bathing suit because it was actually a little chilly down there, and the bathing suit was holding in all the cold water. He definitely didn't mind!
I love this little pouty face!
Luke was already having the time of his life--and the fun was only beginning!
