Six months!!

Six months, really???!! I can't believe it!!

Luke at six months:

~Luke is sitting up!! That's the biggest milestone of the month! We have to stay right next him because he randomly just topples over. But he's getting really good at holding himself up straight!

~He's eating baby food! Luke's favorite foods so far are pears, sweet potatoes, and prunes! He absolutely hates green beans! And he wasn't the biggest fan of peaches or squash, but we'll keep trying!

~Luke loves to laugh! We have lots of laugh sessions throughout the day! He's the silliest when we're changing him--he loves to hang out in just his diaper!

~He's VERY tickleish! I think he gets that from his daddy! But unlike his daddy, Luke loves to be tickled!

~Luke talks a lot! And he loves to squeal! He's really starting to learn all the fun sounds he can make with his mouth!

~Luke still wears some of his 3 month clothes, but he's making his way into those 6 month ones. He still wears stage 2 diapers.

~Luke is still not sleeping through the night. He'll do one five hour stretch and maybe a four hour one after that. He usually gets up around 1am and 5am.

~He started reaching for toys and pulling them toward him. Today, he was reaching for his paci, and he would squeal and laugh everytime he got it. Then he tried to put it in his mouth--he was close, but he put the wrong side in his mouth.

~Luke loves laying on his stomach and looking around at everything. I lay him on the floor when I'm getting ready every day, and he rolls right to his stomach and watches everything I do. He is really interested in the hair dryer!

~He LOVES sitting in the exersaucer and jumperoo! They keep him happy long enough for me to cook, eat, or clean.

~Luke puts EVERYTHING in his mouth--or at least tries to. His favorite thing to try to lick is our cup/glass. He loves to lick the side of the cup--especially at McCallisters for some reason. If we are holding him and try to take a drink of something, Luke immediately tries to grab the cup and lick the sides!

He even tries to eat his bib!

~Luke loves dogs! Every time Yoda or Ralph come near him, he squeals and laughs the hardest. Luke loves petting Yoda's head and grabbing his ears! Yesterday Yoda came and sat down right next to me and Luke. And Luke reached out his arms and put them around Yoda like he was hugging him! It was so cute!

~His favorite toys are the remote, his red ball, his octopus, and his stacking rings.

~Luke likes to grab his feet. He just started trying to put them in his mouth! No surprise there!

~Luke's hair is still strawberry blond with an emphasis on the strawberry part! It hasn't really grown that much since he was born so we're still waiting to see what it's going to do.

~He still has stranger anxiety. Some days are better than others. He'll smile and laugh at you as long as he's in mommy and daddy's arms. But the second someone else tries to hold him that bottom lip sticks out and he starts screaming!

~Luke loves his weekly outings to music class and story hour at the library! He doesn't really like going out to eat anymore with mommy and daddy. He wants us to hold him or play with him the whole time which makes it hard for us to eat!

~Luke makes us laugh all the time, and we feel so blessed that he is our baby! I still look at him and can't believe he is ours! We're so lucky!
