14 months

Little miss Cate is 14 months!  How can that be?!  It's flying by way faster than with Luke.  But she's SO much fun right now, and we love every minute with her!

At 14 months:

~Cate is still the happiest, most content baby!  Everyone that meets her comments on how happy she is and how easy going she is.  She has her moments when she throws a fit but she usually gets over them quickly.

~She has 4 teeth and is getting two more.  She has the bottom two and randomly has the two front ones on the left side, and she's getting the two front right ones now.  Completely out of order but apparently it happens with some kids.

~She wears size 12 month clothes.  I think she's lost some of the chubbiness in her thighs (and cheeks) so I don't have to buy bigger anymore.  She wears size 4 diapers.

~She has no interest in walking.  None.  Just this week she started standing on her own. Every time she stands up from sitting, she smiles and claps for herself.  Really cute.  Hopefully walking won't be far away!

~She loves music and like to sing and dance!  It's funny because Luke took music classes for his first two years and doesn't really care about music or dancing.  But we didn't do music classes with Cate and she loves it.  She sings in her baby babble and can even repeat a tonal pattern every now and then!

~She's saying a few more words this month.  She says "dah" for dog.  Every morning when we bring her downstairs, she points at Ralph and says "dah" over and over.  She loves waving and saying "hi" or 'hey" to people.  She usually does it when she's in a shopping cart, and she'll wave and say hi to people we pass.  It's really funny to watch their reactions to her saying hi--it definitely brightens their day!  Her favorite word is still "daddy" but she'll say "momma" if she really wants something from me.  Occasionally if something really impresses her, she'll say "oh wow".  She said all week at the beach but only said a couple of times this month--at the water fountain at the library!

~This girl loves her bottle and refuses to drink milk from a sippy cup.  We're going to just have to break it cold turkey, but it isn't going to be fun.  Such a stinker--just like her brother!

~She's a girl on the go.  Cate never has been a snuggler.  She still won't just sit and cuddle.  All day long she's moving from toy to toy or mess to mess and just plays.  We call her the human tornado because when I'm cooking dinner at night, she goes from cabinet to cabinet and pulls things out of each one or goes in the pantry and makes a mess.

~Cate loves reading books!  She hands me books all day long and wants to read them with me.  She crawl up to me with a book in hand and grunt until I read it to her.  Her favorite book is a book we got from the Imagination Library,  Little Pink Pup, about a pig raised by a mommy dog.  We read that 10 times a day.

~She loves to dress-up and wear things on her head!  Hats, sunglasses, clothes, anything she can get to stay on her head!

~Cate doesn't really have a favorite toy.  She just plays with everything for a couple of minutes and then moves on.  She loves to play with Luke's cars and transformers which always makes him mad.

~She can be pretty sensitive and lets us know when her feelings are hurt.  Cory gave her a sad look one night at dinner because she was throwing her food on the floor, and she busted out crying huge crocodile tears.   The drama...

~She's not too picky about foods yet.  Some days she doesn't eat that much and others she'll eat a ton.  Her favorite foods are cheese, yogurt, strawberries, beans, goldfish and bananas.

We have so much fun with her and are so blessed that she's ours!
