Wow!!  Luke is two years old!!



At two years:

~Luke is saying so many new words everyday.  He is like a sponge soaking up everything we say to him.  Most of the time he very effectively communicates exactly what he wants and needs.  He has the cutest names for things like "cow juice" for milk--every drink is called juice and since the carton of milk has cows on it, he started calling it cow juice!  He also refers to our drinks as "mommy juice" and "daddy Juice".   He doubles the names of things he really likes--"juice juice", "teeth teeth" for when he wants to brush his teeth, "jam jams" for jammies. 

~He has the sweetest, most caring heart. 

~Luke still loves to cuddle, snuggle, and give lots of hugs.  We've decided his love language has to be touch because he constantly gives out hugs or wants to snuggle on the couch for a minute.  He loves for me to rub his face, and he loves to be tickled.  He might be the most ticklish child ever! 

~He still takes two naps a day.  I know that's pretty unheard of for a two year old, but he is half "Biles" and we in the Biles family LOVE naps!  He usually takes two two-hour naps--sometimes a little shorter.  He goes to bed around 8 and wakes up between 6-7.  Lately he's been sleeping until 8, and I really hope he keeps that up!

~His favorite t.v. show/movie is Toy Story--any of them.  When we were in Texas, he saw Toy Story 3 for the first time and he got a Buzz Lightyear toy, so now he LOVES Buzz.  He'll point to the t.v. and say "Buzz" whenever he wants to watch it. 

~Luke wears 18-24m and 2T clothes.  He's kind of between sizes right now.  The 2T stuff is just a little too big on him. 

~His favorite toys include anything with cars and trains.  Although at preschool, his teachers say he loves to play with the dolls.  They say he's very sweet with them and feeds them bottles, covers them with blankets, and pushes them in the stroller.  While Cory doesn't quite approve of this, I think of it as he's practicing to be a big brother!  And he's going to be a great one!

~His favorite food is cheese, pasta, fruit, and anything mexican.  He loves spicy foods!  He also has a BIG sweet tooth that he inherited from me.  He can spot chocolate a mile away and says 'choclate' over and over until he gets a nibble of it.  He also loves ice cream and 'sicles' (popsicles). 

~Luke loves doing art projects.  Crayons, markers, playdoh, and especially paint.  He still tries to sneak in a little taste of whatever we're doing, but not as bad as he used to! 

~Luke knows his colors and is working on his letters.  We do starfall.com with him at least once a day, and he loves it--although he hides his face whenever he sees the tiger or dinosaur! 

~He loves to be silly and make us laugh.  For some reason, at dinnertime, he is the funniest thing.  We usually laugh all the way through dinner at the things he does. 

~Luke really loves animals.  Almost too much at times...   When he gets up from his naps, he always asks for "daddy" and then he asks for "ralph" or "dog".  Yesterday I caught him putting Ralph's entire nose/snout in his mouth--I'm hoping he was just trying to kiss him and not bite Ralph's nose!  But it was gross whatever he was doing.  He loves to feed Ralph treats and all of his leftover food.  If only Ralph loved Luke as much as Luke loves him!

~He's still a momma's boy and loves to be near me all the time.  I don't mind because I know this won't last forever.  He loves guy-time with daddy though too!
