This weekend we headed to Gatlinburg for a weekend getaway in the mountains. Our friends, Jake and Danielle, invited our small group to stay in Jake's parents' cabin there! Only a few couples were able to go, but we had tons of fun and it was great to get away! Luke had the best time hanging out with his friend, Madison too!
On the way up to the cabin on Friday, we had our very first BEAR siting! A momma bear was eating near the road with her baby bear. We got out of the car, took a couple of quick pics, and then RAN back to the car! Look for the brown blob in both of these pictures--that's the bear!
That bear was literally 15 feet away from us! Crazy! I don't think I ever want to be that close to a bear every again.
On Saturday the girls went shopping while the boys were fishing. And then we all met up at the Applebarn to eat--no trip to Gatlinburg is complete without eating there!!

On Sunday, we drove through the Smokey Mountains and stopped at different places in the park to play and explore. It could not have been more beautiful!

And very easily distracted babies! There were six adults clapping, sneezing, jumping, and waving trying to get their attention! And all they wanted to look at was a dog!

Looks like a super fun trip!! Love Lukie & Matilea sitting on that blanket together!!! Aww, they love each other!!! We need to get in on the next G-burg trip!! Wait a minute, have you and I ever even been there together?!?!?! I can't believe it's one place we haven't gone on some adventure to!!
